Farming for gold in Warcraft is easier with a guide, but to get you started here are a few monsters in the Eastern Plaguelands that are nice ways of getting cash when you need it (or if you are greedy just because you want it). The Plaguelands doesn’t really have any big moneyspinners, but what you will find is there are a lot of mobs that drop regularly and pop quickly. Importantly they are not challenging mobs, so if you are looking for an area that doesn’t get farmed heavily by other players, and where you can let off some steam without having to worry too much about being overmatched, then this could be the place for you.

The first nasty that needs to die regularly by your hand is the Mossflayer Zombies that can be found around (28,85). Don’t expect any massive rewards for these, but they do have several virtues. Firstly they drop good amounts of silver. Secondly they drop runecloth on a regular basis. Thirdly and most importantly, they are pretty easy to kill and they respawn really fast. This is a what you see is what you get area. Don’t hold out for that miracle drop from every 50th mob, because as far as I have found there are none. However when the other farming places are being heavily farmed by the gold seekers, this is a place that can earn a nice regular income for surprisingly little effort.

No doubt you will encounter a few Plaguebats whilst farming gold in the Eastern Plaguelands. At first these guys may seem just annoying, but you can actually do quite well out of just bashing on them. They have a good chance of dropping ‘Evil Bat Eyes’ which can sell for 2 gold if the right people are on the right quest. At the same time you’ll collect a good number of vendor trash items and you can skin the bat corpses too.

When you get bored of bats you can wreak similar havoc on Carrion Grubs and Carrion Devourers. Once again you can’t go 10 foot without tripping over one of these and they can be annoying until you start focussing on them. When you do you’ll find they have a high drop rate for Larval acid which you can sell for 6-8 gold at the right times.

There is no doubt that there is better places to grab both gold and levels in Warcraft, but these are becoming better and better known. The great advantage of killing the mobs suggested in this article is that they are relatively easy, they are rarely being farmed by other players, and they pop nice and fast.

You’ve labored over this account for some time, built up a great character, collected some rare equipment and had a lot of fun, but it’s time to move on. Then you go to e-bay to try and get some payback on your character, and every man and his dog is undercutting you and drawing attention away from your precious auction. To make it worse, Blizzard is throwing their weigh around and getting auctions canceled for the age old reason ‘because they can’.

Well your in luck, because there are a few little tips and tricks that can help you sell that account and get a good return on it.

Account: The first thing to look at is a general e-bay selling tip – and that is that your member account is a sales-tool in itself. Take a look at your name – is that the sort of person you want to buy something off? It may seem a little thing but think of the psychological effect of buying an account off the following names ‘HonestWOWfan’, ‘Somestupidkid’, ‘HardenedCrim’. It’s a bit of a no-brainer which one you want really. I’m not suggesting you would pick some of the crazier names – but take a look at what you do have. You’d be amazed how much difference it can make. Now we’ve got the name sorted out let’s talk about the two big things people look at when considering buying off you. Number of sales and feedback. In both cases the higher the better. If you created this account just to sell your WoW character – it is highly recommended you go through a few auctions first and get your number of sales up. Buy a few e-books(you can often get them for $0.01!) and make sure you get feedback for them. Your feedback should be 100%. If you have a lot of sales it can go lower, but even then you should have high 90’s. Do everything in your power to avoid your first negative feedback. Once you drop from 100% to 99% people will scan through your feedback looking for the negatives.

This may all seem superficial, but the more ‘trustworthy’ the account appears the more interested bidders you will have. Consider it from the bidders point of view. They are spending hundreds of dollars on ‘virtual’ goods. They don’t want to think that after sending you money you will vanish.

To cancel an Auction they need to file a complaint with E-bay, and anyone who has ever been through that process with e-bay will tell you what a circus that is. The pleasant side effect of the 24 hour Auction is that it will put you higher up the page, as E-Bay lists auctions closing soon first. If your Auction doesn’t sell you can just relist it as a new 24 hour Auction and once again it goes up the top of the list.

Finally: The Add: If everything else is in place, and your add sucks – you probably won’t even get a whiff of interest. There are too many other options out there for people to waste time. Precious few browse through a bad add. So get the information out there as quickly as possible. Start with the class, level and server. Then add features. What is a feature? Any cool equipment, any special skills. The key here is important information first – they details. E-bay lets you use a whole host of markup language – use it to your advantage. Make your add the best it possible can be. By the time you are finished crafting your add, you should want to buy your character yourself!

Many times players try to level as quick as possible to reach the highest level in the shortest time and to participate in the end game environment of the game. The end game can be raids on very strong monsters that require 30-40 people to take on, or it can be a player versus player experience against other non-npc people, or both.

All in all the early MMORPGs scored by the freedom they gave to the player in regards how they could experience the game world. Restrictions in the latest MMORPGS seem to have taken away that freedom in order to reduce player harassment or to keep players from making mistakes that would require the help of guides to fix.

Finders Keepers, a new release from Jenkat Games, is quite a challenge for anyone who likes Flash games. I was hooked in the early rounds and have been playing it every day for a week.
The object of the game is to gather floating items and swimming things and haul them onto your boat. Each item wins you some dollars, which go toward reaching the amount you need to get to the next level. If you end up with more money than you need when the time runs out, you win and proceed to the next round. And if you are especially good at reeling in the sea's treasures, all that extra cash caries over and goes towards the next level's goal. Do well enough in the early levels and you don't have to sweat as much in
the later.
Playing through several levels -- on the easiest of the four difficulty settings, because my trap line skills are not yet world class -- was an intuitive snap. The controls thoughtfully allow players to guide Floyd (the main character) with either the mouse or the keyboard. I found the later a bit quicker to grasp, especially because all you need are the four arrow keys. Left and right move the boat. Up tosses a bomb to destroy whatever you've hooked if you decided taking the time to get it into your boat isn't worth it. This key also will turn Goldie the Cat loose with his bag of gadgets. Whenever he's holding something, just hit it (or click on him) and you'll be treated to some helpful pyrotechnics or a super, treasure gathering vacuum. The down key drops your trap line hopefully netting you something valuable. If you would rather do all of this with the mouse, Finders Keepers is happy to accommodate. They make it easy to play game.
Between levels, you get to visit the nice Eskimo girl's store, where you can buy items like additional bombs and cogs, which increase the speed your trap line swings. But spending cash on these nifty tchotchkes reduces what you have in your wallet to start the next level. That makes it harder to meet your needed money quota so try to find a balance between saving and buying things to make fishing easier. As with most Flash games there are cheats but I have yet to find them.
The deluxe version, only available as a game download, adds some new features like three game modes, multiplayer, and more. Like the best online games, Finders Keepers is quick to jump in to and addictive in that "Oh, I have time for just one more level" sort of way.

If you're an avid gamer, you' probably enjoy most genres of games and puzzles. Someone asks if you'd like to play, and you immediately say, "I'm in!" In an admittedly informal survey of avid gamers (and after some very heated discussions), here are the games that they claimed were among the most addicting games on the planet.

Video Games

When it came to addicting video games, many of my gamer friends voted for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for the GameCube) and WarioWare: Smooth Moves (for the Wii). The guys in the crowd were partial to the Burnout Series and the Gran Turismo series (for the Playstation). And those who were into role-playing games were vocal in their support of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (on the Xbox 360).

Board Games

All of my gamer friends love to play board games, and most named Monopoly as one of the most addicting games on the planet. Other traditional board games that ranked high included Scrabble and Risk. Some mentioned unique board games, such as Axis & Allies and Starfarers of Catan, while others stuck with Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit.

Card Games

When it came to card games, more than a few of my gamer friends admitted to having stayed up all night playing poker. Several owned high-end poker chip sets and planned their activities around their monthly poker games. There weren't any bridge players in the group, but several mentioned learning old-time card games from their parents and grandparents. The fondly reminisced about playing card games of canasta, rummy, hearts, and spades as they were growing up.

All of my gamer friends said that they came from game-playing families, and that they started playing games when they were very young. Aside from card games like Old Maid and Crazy Eights, most ranked Chutes and Ladders, Sorry!, and checkers as all-time favorites. Those with kids said that some of the newer games for kids, like Cranium Cadoo and Pictionary Junior, were big hits at home, although one said that her daughter loved jigsaw puzzles more than any particular game - and had over 50 in her collection!

Strategy Games

When the subject of strategy games came up, there was an intense discussion of the merits of checkers, chess, and backgammon. The chess players in the group dismissed checkers as too simple, while the checkers players argued that the chess players were just brainiacs. Everyone did agree, though, that backgammon was one of the most addicting games on the planet.

Party Games

Naturally, all of my gamer friends often attended "game night" parties, and all agreed that 25 Words or Less and Taboo were two of the most addicting games on the planet. For more organized fun, many voted for Bunco, a mindless dice game played by 12 or more players. Everyone vouched for the fact that Bunco allows you to visit with friends while rolling the dice, accumulating points, and periodically screaming "Bunco!"

Obviously, every gamer is unique and has his or her own personal list of the most addicting games on the planet. But if you haven't dabble in those that my gamer friends recommend, give them a try - you might find them addicting as well!

Right now all the talk in PC gaming is DirectX 10 Graphics. New hardware and new DX10 games have everyone buzzing about a new era in PC gaming. But is all the celebration a little bit premature?

Yes and No!

As with any new technology there is a lag time before everything catches up, before the new technology is truly integrated into the old, in this case gaming systems. The big question on everyone's mind, (especially gamers) how long will we have to wait before DX10 graphics delivers the goods?

In other words, how long is the lag time before performance (what you see in your games) catches up with the technology DX10 Graphics will ultimately deliver?

For the ordinary consumer who is not a techie or even a dedicated gamer all this fuss about X10 Graphics can be downright confusing to say the least. Getting a handle on even the simplest terminology can be a challenge.

First, you have to understand DirectX is a Microsoft Windows technology that lets you have higher performance in sound and graphics when playing games and/or watching videos on your computer. In the past we have had different versions of DirectX... DirectX 8, DirectX 9, and with the introduction of Windows Vista we have DirectX 10.

DX10 Graphics gives us better performance and better looking PC graphics with clearer, higher resolution images with more shading and details. It simply means better overall picture quality and performance; a forward step to true realism in gaming.

At the heart of DirectX are APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) which can be oversimplified as a bridge or way for the hardware and the software to "talk" to each other. These GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) will give you better gaming with greater image quality and performance. HD DVD and Blu-ray video playback is even possible.
